[Reporter Park Jong-gyu] HD Hyundai Heavy Industries took first place in the results of the June 2026 shipbuilding listed company brand reputation analysis announced by the Korea Corporate Reputation Research Institute. This was followed by Hanwha Ocean in second place and Samsung Heavy Industries in third place.

This evaluation was conducted on 20 shipbuilding listed company brands from May 1 to June 1. The big data utilized for the analysis totaled 66,789,239 cases, a 20.93% increase from the previous month (55,228,268 cases). The brand reputation index was calculated by comprehensively combining participation, media, communication, community, market, and social contribution indices.

According to the June rankings, HD Hyundai Heavy Industries took the lead, followed by Hanwha Ocean and Samsung Heavy Industries. Subsequently, HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering, HD Hyundai Marine Engine, STX Engine, Korea Carbon, Sejin Heavy Industries, Oriental Precision, Inhwa Precision, Daeyang Electric, Halla IMS, Samyoung M-Tech, KSP, and Ilseung were included within the top 15.

• 1st Place: HD Hyundai Heavy Industries It recorded a brand reputation index of 20,654,570, a 43.89% increase compared to the previous month. The detailed indices are a participation index of 287,992, a media index of 331,359, a communication index of 760,959, a community index of 533,448, a market index of 18,527,044, and a social contribution index of 213,766.

• 2nd Place: Hanwha Ocean With a brand reputation index of 15,669,126, it rose by 3.34% from the previous month. The detailed indices are a participation index of 1,162,161, a media index of 2,052,582, a communication index of 992,180, a community index of 997,995, a market index of 10,211,883, and a social contribution index of 252,324.

• 3rd Place: Samsung Heavy Industries It recorded a brand reputation index of 13,434,428, a 6.82% increase compared to the previous month. The detailed indices are a participation index of 1,211,890, a media index of 2,177,085, a communication index of 1,080,800, a community index of 1,147,199, a market index of 7,642,409, and a social contribution index of 175,044.

In the lower ranks, 4th place HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering (10,224,986, up 32.70%) and 5th place HD Hyundai Marine Engine (1,390,339, up 38.52%) each showed an upward trend.

Koo Chang-hwan, Director of the Korea Corporate Reputation Research Institute, stated, "HD Hyundai Heavy Industries ranked first in the June shipbuilding listed company brand reputation," and added, "The overall big data for the category expanded by 20.93% compared to the previous month."

He further explained, "Brand consumption rose by 20.73%, brand issues by 12.75%, brand communication by 11.47%, brand diffusion by 11.60%, and brand market by 25.55%, whereas brand contribution decreased by 15.06%."
