Korbit Launches 'Send via Contact' Feature, Enabling Virtual Asset Transfers via Phone Number Without Wallet Address

Korbit has launched the 'Send via Contact' service, allowing users to transfer virtual assets using only a mobile phone number and real name. Designed to enable easy asset transfers through the Korbit app (iOS and Android) without requiring the recipient's wallet address, this service prevents the risk of asset loss caused by incorrect wallet address input and drastically simplifies the remittance process.

[Key Features and Conditions] • Fees and Processing Time: Processed as an internal exchange transfer, there are no separate remittance fees, and blockchain network fees and confirmation wait times do not apply. • Transfer Limits: 1 million won per transaction, up to 10 million won daily. • Non-Member Receipt: When sending to a non-member, the remittance details are notified via KakaoTalk notification. The recipient can receive the assets by signing up for Korbit and completing the identity verification process within 72 hours. If not claimed within the specified period, the transfer amount is automatically refunded to the sender. • Enhanced Security: Multi-factor authentication and financial fraud warnings are provided at each step of the transfer process. Additionally, a transfer notification is only sent when the recipient's mobile phone number and real name match. • Eligibility: Korean nationals aged 19 or older who have completed Identity Verification (KYC) and the Common Reporting Standard (CARF) compliance.

Lee Jung-woo, CTO and CPO of Korbit, stated, "'Send via Contact' is the first step toward simplifying the virtual asset transfer experience to the level of standard financial remittances," adding, "We will continue to make service improvements that simultaneously enhance user convenience and security."
