According to ABC News, U.S. President Donald Trump stated on the 1st (local time) that he expects to reach an agreement with Iran within the next week regarding a ceasefire extension and the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz.

President Trump said, "Things are progressing smoothly and looking quite good," adding, "There was a minor incident today, but it was quickly resolved." The cause of this incident was Iran's dissatisfaction with Israel's airstrike on Lebanon. He stated, "I contacted Lebanon's Hezbollah to demand a halt to the firing, and then made the same demand to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and eventually both sides stopped firing."

Regarding the peace agreement with Iran, President Trump highly evaluated it, saying, "It could be a better outcome than a military victory." Regarding the timing of the finalization of the memorandum of understanding (MOU) on the reopening of the strait, he stated, "It will be achieved within the next week." However, he added that no official signing has taken place yet, noting, "There are a few key details that need to be finalized."
