Hanwha Aerospace announced on the 2nd a public disclosure regarding the suspension of operations at its Daejeon plant. This measure follows a serious accident in accordance with Article 3 of the Enforcement Rules of the Occupational Safety and Health Act, and production will be suspended starting June 1, 2026. The scheduled date for resuming production is currently undetermined, and the company plans to make a further disclosure once the future schedule is confirmed.
According to the company, the 2025 revenue of the Daejeon plant, which is subject to this production suspension, is 1.31887854516 trillion won. This accounts for 4.94% of Hanwha Aerospace's recent consolidated revenue of 26.70290124815 trillion won in 2025.
The company intends to resume production only after the investigation of the accident's cause is completed, special safety training is conducted across all plants, and measures to prevent recurrence are established.
Hanwha Aerospace stated, "We are currently doing our utmost to treat and support the injured, and we are fully dedicating ourselves to managing the accident and investigating the cause in cooperation with the relevant authorities," adding, "We will take all possible measures to prevent a recurrence."
