[2026 Local Elections] Full KOSPI & KOSDAQ Closure on June 3... Market Schedule Including Suspension of Night Trading

Domestic Stock Market Fully Closed on June 3, 2026, for Local Elections

To mark the local election day on June 3, 2026, the domestic capital market will be closed. The Korea Exchange announced through a disclosure on the 20th of last month that the stock and derivatives markets, including KOSPI, KOSDAQ, and KONEX, will be closed on this day.

■ Markets Affected by Closure Due to this closure measure, trading will be completely suspended not only in the Stock Market (KOSPI), KOSDAQ, and KONEX, but also in the Derivatives Market and General Product Market. The General Product Market for oil, gold, and emission allowances, as well as clearing operations for Over-The-Counter (OTC) derivatives (KRW IRS, USD IRS) and Trade Repository (KRX-TR) operations, will also be suspended.

■ Night Trading and Schedule Night trading in the derivatives market is also included in the closure. Night trading starting at 6:00 PM on June 3 will be suspended; however, night trading beginning at 6:00 PM on the previous day, June 2, will operate normally.

■ Precautions for Investors The Korea Exchange stated that this closure will be implemented in accordance with the business regulations of each respective market. As stock and derivatives trading is impossible on the day of closure, investors should pay special attention to settlement schedules and margin management. Suspended trading will resume normally from the next business day.
