May Netizen Awards Corporate Grand Prize Winner... Samsung Electronics Defends 1st Place with 56.1% Share

In the voting results for the Corporate Grand Prize in the corporate category of the May Netizen Awards, Samsung Electronics firmly defended its top spot.

Samsung Electronics recorded 1,557 votes (a 56.1% share) to take first place in this vote. Despite receiving a majority of support last month, Samsung Electronics had shown a downward trend in its share; however, in this vote, it pulled its support rate back up to the 56% range, solidifying its monopoly in the Corporate Grand Prize category.

At the top ranks, the structure of Hyundai Motor and LG following behind continued. Hyundai Motor secured 542 votes (19.5%) to defend its second-place position. Having built a foundation for a chase with an upward trend last month, Hyundai Motor once again gathered stable voter support. LG took third place with 256 votes (9.2%), forming the top-tier lineup.

In the middle ranks, a reversal of rankings occurred. Shinsegae, which had shown a downward trend last month, recorded 153 votes (5.5%) to rise to 4th place. Meanwhile, Lotte, which engaged in a fierce competition with a fractional difference, obtained 148 votes (5.3%) to settle in 5th place. Hanwha Ocean, which had shown an upward trend and advanced to 4th place, saw its voter support stall, dropping to 6th place with 104 votes (3.7%).

In the lower rankings, Hyundai Rotem received 7 votes (0.3%) to keep its 7th place spot. This was followed by Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO), which secured 4 votes (0.1%) to record an 8th place finish. SK Group and Samchundang Pharmaceutical each ultimately gained 3 votes (0.1%), finishing this month's voting race in a tie for 9th place.

These results, which confirmed ranking fluctuations, signal that fierce clashes between companies will unfold in future votes as well.
