[Press Release] FutureChem announced on the 4th through a regulatory filing that it has terminated the European joint development and technology transfer agreement for the prostate cancer diagnostic radiopharmaceutical 'FC303' and has decided to receive back all rights to the technology.
This termination targets the technology transfer agreement signed with Austria's IASON GmbH on May 4, 2020. FutureChem signed a termination agreement with its contract partner, Curium, effective June 4, 2026.
The background of the contract termination involves a delay in European clinical trials. The company determined that the clinical delay would significantly postpone the European market launch compared to the original plan, and thus requested an early termination of the contract and the return of rights from Curium.
FutureChem also clarified its stance regarding the costs associated with the return of rights and the previously received payments. To terminate the contract, FutureChem agreed to bear the FC303 clinical-related costs incurred to date, amounting to 1,655,932,275 won. In contrast, it explained that there is no obligation to return the previously received milestone payment of 6,156,728,867 won, and that no separate down payment was ever received.
Meanwhile, IASON, the original contract partner, was 100% acquired by the global nuclear medicine company Curium in June 2021 and is currently operated under the integrated name 'Curium Austria.' FutureChem reported both the date of the event's occurrence and the decision date for this resolution as June 4, 2026, in its regulatory filing.
