Konic Automation to Participate in 58.7 Billion Won National Project for 'Perovskite-Silicon Tandem Modules'

Konic Automation announced in a regulatory filing on the 5th that it has been selected as a participating institution in the national project for the 'Technology Development and Demonstration of Commercial-Area Perovskite/Crystalline Silicon Tandem Modules,' promoted by the Ministry of Climate, Energy, and Environment.

In this project, Konic Automation will be responsible for the development of automation equipment and systems, including the design of an integrated experimental automation equipment system architecture, the fabrication of thin-film production, analysis, and measurement equipment mechanisms, the initiation of key process module development, and the design of long-term testing equipment.

The Korea Institute of Energy Technology Evaluation and Planning (KETEP) serves as the managing agency for this project, with Hanwha Solutions Q CELLS participating as the lead organization. A total of nine institutions, including Konic Automation, are listed as participating organizations.

■ Project Scale and Funding The project execution period is approximately three years, from April 1, 2026, to March 31, 2029. The total project cost is 58,730,292,000 won, of which 25 billion won is funded by the government. The government-funded R&D budget allocated to Konic Automation is 3.5 billion won.

The total private contribution amounts to 33,730,292,000 won, with the company's share being 1,724,100,000 won. Konic Automation's equity as of the end of 2025 is 24,593,341,543 won, making the government-funded R&D support the company receives equivalent to 14.23% of its total equity.

■ Key Objectives and Expected Effects The core objectives of the project include △ the development of high-efficiency tandem cell materials and structures, △ the development of high-power tandem modules and the securing of reliability, and △ the establishment of an integrated high-speed production and analysis system for material development.

The company stated that it expects synergy effects from this project, such as the establishment of a tandem cell material development system, the acquisition of high-performance cell technology, and the strengthening of its R&D automation equipment development capabilities.

Meanwhile, both the fact-checking date and the decision date for this disclosure are June 5, 2026, based on the date of the final consortium agreement.
