HMM has decided to make a capital investment of 1.6641 trillion won to order a total of 10 new vessels.

On the 24th, HMM held a board of directors meeting and announced that it passed a resolution on a new capital investment plan to order eight bulk carriers and two gas carriers. The investment is being pursued with the aim of "strengthening the competitiveness of the bulk carrier fleet."

The exact investment amount is 1,664,130,591,000 won. This is equivalent to 6.26% of the company's consolidated equity capital (26,571,277,878,108 won) as of the end of the most recent fiscal year.

The investment period runs from the date of the board resolution, June 24, 2026, to the scheduled final delivery date of the vessels, September 30, 2031. However, the actual investment completion date may vary depending on the future vessel delivery schedule.

The company explained that this investment amount was calculated using the initial exchange rate (1,535.70 won per dollar) as of the day prior to the board resolution date. It added that the investment amount may fluctuate depending on vessel price payment terms and changes in detailed vessel specifications.

Meanwhile, this investment resolution was made on a conditional basis. The investment for the eight bulk carriers was passed on the condition of 'approval from the charterer's board of directors,' while the investment for the two gas carriers was passed on the condition of 'approval from the shipowner's board of directors.' All three outside directors attended this HMM board meeting, with no absences.
