Yeonjung (real name Yoo Yeon-jung) of the group WJSN will meet audiences again through the musical 'Beethoven'.

Yoo Yeon-jung will take the stage for the first time in the musical 'Beethoven', which opens at the Grand Theater of the Sejong Center for the Performing Arts on the 9th, officially kicking off her performance schedule. Through her agency Starship Entertainment, she shared her thoughts, saying, "I am so happy and thrilled to greet you once again on the musical stage. This time, I am visiting you with 'Beethoven', and you will be able to experience splendid classical music and a beautiful stage. I will do my best on every stage to give special memories to our official fan club Ujung and to the audience, so please show us lots of support and anticipation."

The musical 'Beethoven' depicts the journey of the genius composer Beethoven, who never lost his passion for creation even under the extreme circumstance of hearing loss, continuing his life's work set in 1810 Vienna. This season vividly embodies the historical background of the time through colorful stage direction, including glamorous royal balls, the streets of Vienna, and a rose garden. Combined with Beethoven's masterpieces such as the 'Moonlight', 'Pathétique', and 'Appassionata' sonatas, as well as Symphony No. 9 'Choral', and the music of composer Sylvester Levay, it completes a harmony of classical and modern sensibilities.

In the play, Yeonjung plays the role of 'Bettina Brentano', who dreams of becoming a Romantic poet and enjoys writing poetry about nature and love. Bettina is the sister-in-law of Beethoven's soulmate 'Antonie Brentano'. Watching Beethoven and Antonie become attracted to each other, she experiences a complex emotional conflict, understanding the two while simultaneously worrying about her brother 'Franz'. Yeonjung plans to delicately express this character's inner conflicts and emotional changes, adding tension to the play and driving the story forward.

Having debuted in the 2022 musical 'Lizzie', Yeonjung has steadily expanded her filmography by appearing in various works such as 'Crash Landing on You', 'Aloha, My Mothers', 'Great Comet', 'Frida', and 'Sugar'. As she has received acclaim for her solid vocal skills and stable vocalization, attention is also focused on her new character interpretation in this production.

Meanwhile, Yeonjung released the special single 'Bloom hour' in February to mark the 10th anniversary of WJSN's debut. Recently, she has been actively continuing her activities by appearing on various music shows and performing at the '2026 I.O.I Concert Tour: Loop in Seoul' stage to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the formation of the group I.O.I.

The musical 'Beethoven', starring Yoo Yeon-jung, will be performed at the Grand Theater of the Sejong Center for the Performing Arts until August 11.
