[Seoul=Newsdesk] HD Hyundai Marine Engine announced on the 12th that it has secured a 46.8 billion KRW contract to supply marine engines to Samsung Heavy Industries. The contract will run from June 11, 2026, to August 9, 2028, with the engines being supplied domestically. The supply payments, including the down payment and advance payment, will be made according to the engine delivery schedule. An HD Hyundai Marine Engine official explained, "The contract period may vary depending on Samsung Heavy Industries' shipbuilding schedule," adding, "The contract amount was calculated by applying the initially announced exchange rate as of the contract date (1,522.4 KRW per USD)." Meanwhile, detailed contract information, such as the type of vessel and engine specifications, was not disclosed in the regulatory filing. Through this contract, HD Hyundai Marine Engine has secured the engine volume to be deployed in Samsung Heavy Industries' shipbuilding projects, which is expected to contribute to expanding its mid- to long-term order backlog.
