On the 15th, strong buying poured into semiconductor equipment company HPSP (403870) from the early hours of the trading session, sending its stock price soaring. As a result, the market showed dramatic movement, with the Volatility Interruption (VI) mechanism triggered twice in a row during the morning session.

On this day, static VIs were activated consecutively following the opening call auction. The first VI was triggered at 10:03:19 a.m. and lifted at 10:05:21 a.m. The second VI was then triggered at 11:18:42 a.m. and released at 11:21:10 a.m. As of 11:22 a.m., HPSP was trading at 86,200 won, up 14,700 won (20.56%) from the previous trading day, maintaining its strong momentum.

The KOSDAQ index, which includes this stock, is also riding an overall bullish trend. The broader stock market is enjoying a tailwind as well, with the KOSPI index rising compared to the previous day and breaking through the 8,500 mark. In particular, the KOSPI surged more than 5% at one point during the session.
