The South Korean national football team suffered a 0-1 defeat to Mexico in their second Group A match of the 2026 FIFA North America World Cup group stage.

In the match held on the 19th, South Korea maintained a tight balance by finishing the first half 0-0. Both teams threatened the opponent's goal with aggressive attacks, but a lack of decisive finishing meant the first half ended scoreless.

The match was decided early in the second half. South Korea conceded the opening goal to Mexico's Luis Romo around the 50th minute of the second half, falling behind 0-1. Although they pushed hard for an equalizer afterward, they failed to break through the Mexican defense and ultimately suffered a 0-1 defeat.

South Korea had previously secured a 2-1 victory over the Czech Republic in their first group stage match, giving them a record of one win and one loss. Meanwhile, Mexico, following up on their victory over South Africa, defeated South Korea as well to achieve two consecutive wins.
