Doosan Enerbility (034020) closed lower on the 18th, failing to defend the '100,000-bility' level even as the KOSPI broke through the 9,000 mark for the first time in history in a landmark trading session.
In today's KRX regular market session, Doosan Enerbility finished trading at 99,600 won, down 3,600 won (3.49%) from the previous trading day. On a closing-price basis, it fell below the 100,000-won level once again.
In contrast, the KOSPI closed at 9,063.84, surpassing the 9,000 mark for the first time ever. The index rose 199.60 points (2.25%) from the previous day.
During the session, Doosan Enerbility briefly climbed to 110,200 won, temporarily reclaiming the '110,000-bility' threshold. However, it failed to sustain the upward momentum, reversing to a decline under pressure from profit-taking sell-offs and closing the session weaker.
Recently, Doosan Enerbility's stock price has been exhibiting volatility. Unlike the KOSPI's historic bull run today, the stock showed weakness amid a trend of differentiation among individual stocks.
The market is closely watching whether Doosan Enerbility can reclaim the 100,000-won level on a closing-price basis and whether it will make another attempt at the 110,000-won range it briefly recovered intraday.
