On June 13, 2026, domestic precious metal prices based on GoldPrice.com showed mixed movements by item. The buying price of pure gold rose slightly, the buying price of platinum fell, and silver prices rose for both buying and selling.

■ Strong During Every Crisis... Future Trend of Gold Prices
Gold has been regarded as the most representative safe-haven asset during wars and crisis situations for thousands of years. During every major geopolitical crisis — including the 1979 Iranian Revolution, the 1980s Iran-Iraq War, the 1991 Gulf War, the 2003 Iraq War, and the 2022 Russia-Ukraine War — gold prices showed strength. This is because the pattern of investors moving funds into cash, government bonds, and gold has repeated whenever global financial markets become unstable.
However, during the U.S.-Iran war, gold prices also showed weakness due to interest rate uncertainty caused by rising international oil prices. With expectations growing for ceasefire negotiations recently, market attention is focused on which direction international gold prices will move going forward.
