The 'Blockchain Promotion Diet Members' League' under Japan's Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) has proposed to the government the establishment of a national-level strategy and a comprehensive overhaul of cryptocurrency-related regulations to foster the blockchain and Web3 ecosystem.

According to the local media outlet 'CoinPost', the league recently submitted a policy proposal to the government demanding ▲ cryptocurrency tax reform ▲ the introduction of ETFs (Exchange-Traded Funds) ▲ the relaxation of leverage trading regulations ▲ measures against unregistered businesses ▲ and the establishment of a national-level cryptocurrency strategy.

In particular, regarding the tax system, it pointed out the limitations of the current framework and urged further review of the application methods for 'separate self-assessment taxation' and 'separate withholding taxation'. It also proposed establishing clear taxation standards for cryptocurrency trading and inheritance.

Regarding leverage trading, it assessed that the current '2x' leverage limit applied to individual investors is excessively low. The league argued that a gradual increase in the leverage limit should be considered alongside measures to strengthen the margin management system.

Additionally, it requested the establishment of a cryptocurrency ETF system and strongly urged the strengthening of cooperation with overseas regulatory authorities to respond to global regulations.
