SK Group Chairman Chey Tae-won met with Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang in Taipei, Taiwan, on the 1st (local time) to discuss cooperation measures in the artificial intelligence (AI) memory sector.
SK Hynix released photos of the executive meeting between the two companies held in Taipei via its SNS that day. The photos showed Chairman Chey and CEO Huang, along with other key executives from both companies, including SK Hynix President and CEO Kwak Noh-jung, sitting together.
SK Hynix stated, "On the occasion of achieving a market capitalization of $1 trillion, executives from both companies met to share the significance," adding, "We reviewed our achievements in the AI memory sector and reaffirmed our commitment to cooperate in expanding AI infrastructure."
Following the meeting, CEO Huang attended 'Korean Partner Night,' a dinner event with officials from Korean companies. Meeting with Korean reporters, he cited performance, quality, reliability, and supply capabilities as the key elements of High Bandwidth Memory (HBM), emphasizing, "This is why we are working closely with SK."
CEO Huang is expected to hold an additional meeting with Chairman Chey during his visit to South Korea after concluding his current schedule in Taiwan. The business community is analyzing the series of meetings between the two companies as a move to strengthen their strategic partnership aimed at the full-fledged AI infrastructure era.
