Amid global stock market turbulence triggered by hawkish signals from the U.S. Federal Reserve (Fed), Dongwoon Anatech closed slightly higher, supported by differentiated investment sentiment toward semiconductor and artificial intelligence (AI)-related stocks.

According to the Korea Exchange on the 18th, Dongwoon Anatech finished trading at 37,850 won, up 250 won (0.66%) from the previous trading day. The stock opened at 37,650 won and showed strength, rising to as high as 39,200 won during the session, while recording a low of 35,650 won. Trading volume was tallied at 109,407 shares, with a transaction value of around 4 billion won.

Overnight, the New York Stock Exchange fell across the board as caution over future monetary policy grew, even though the Fed kept its benchmark interest rate unchanged. The market analyzed the decline as a result of shrinking risk appetite driven by the possibility of additional Fed tightening and a delay in the timing of rate cuts. In particular, major tech stocks including Nvidia, Apple, Tesla, Microsoft, Meta, Alphabet, and Amazon all recorded losses, cooling investor sentiment.

Despite this weakness in global stock markets, Dongwoon Anatech experienced intraday volatility but maintained its upward trend, showing a relatively solid performance. The market views that mid- to long-term growth expectations for the semiconductor and AI-related sectors helped defend the share price of certain stocks.

However, variables that will determine the future direction of the stock price—such as the direction of U.S. monetary policy, changes in global semiconductor industry conditions, and foreign investor supply and demand trends—have been pointed out, suggesting that investors are likely to continue responding cautiously.
