[May Netizen Awards] The Lotte Giants have claimed the top spot for the fifth consecutive month in the Professional Baseball Award, showcasing the overwhelming voting power of their fandom. Lotte, which first claimed the throne in January and has never relinquished the lead since, secured a total of 1,497 votes (30.4%) in the May voting, firmly establishing its status as the dominant force in the category.
Traditional popular clubs engaged in a fierce pursuit in the upper ranks. The KIA Tigers took second place with 967 votes (19.6%), followed by the Samsung Lions in third with 825 votes (16.7%). While the top three clubs maintained a solid triangular formation, the Hanwha Eagles secured fourth place with 477 votes (9.7%).
The mid-tier competition was also fierce. The LG Twins took fifth place with 317 votes (6.4%), while the Doosan Bears (208 votes, 4.2%) and the SSG Landers (205 votes, 4.2%) finished in sixth and seventh place, respectively, following an unprecedentedly close race decided by a margin of just three votes.
In the lower ranks, the Kiwoom Heroes finished eighth with 163 votes (3.3%), the KT Wiz ninth with 140 votes (2.8%), and the NC Dinos tenth with 131 votes (2.7%), wrapping up the May voting race. As the Lotte Giants set a record of defending their title for five consecutive months, the baseball world's attention is now focused on whether the pursuing clubs will be able to strike back in the June voting.
