According to the cryptocurrency-focused media outlet BeInCrypto, Cambodian police announced that a Chinese national and real estate developer, Yang Weixin (53), was murdered following a kidnapping in which a ransom of 2 million dollars in cryptocurrency was demanded.

Yang was kidnapped from an apartment in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, on May 29. About 14 hours later, his body was found inside an abandoned vehicle in the Dangkao area.

It was reported that the perpetrators used the victim's mobile phone to demand that his family pay 2 million dollars in cryptocurrency. The police are investigating the incident, classifying it as a premeditated kidnapping for ransom that led to murder.

Currently, three suspects are on the run and are being pursued by the police.
