KB Kookmin Bank conducted a grave site maintenance volunteer activity at the Seoul National Cemetery in commemoration of the Month of Patriots and Veterans. As part of its sisterhood relationship with the Seoul National Cemetery, which has continued annually since 2012, about 80 people, including employees and their families, participated in this year's event, marking its 15th anniversary. After paying their respects at the Memorial Tower to honor the sacrifices of the patriotic martyrs, the participants maintained 1,587 grave sites in Area 21, their designated sisterhood section. The tasks included cleaning gravestones, removing weeds, collecting withered flowers, and planting Taegeukgi (South Korean national flags). One employee who participated in the volunteer work said, "It was highly educational as I could feel the footsteps of the martyrs who died for their country alongside my child and reflect on the meaning of honoring patriots and veterans." A KB Kookmin Bank official stated, "It is thanks to the noble sacrifices of the patriotic martyrs that we can enjoy a peaceful daily life today," adding, "We will continue to strive to spread a proper culture of honoring veterans and fulfill our corporate social responsibility." Meanwhile, KB Financial Group has been continuously conducting campaigns and sponsorship projects for independence activists under the leadership of Chairman Yang Jong-hee. Last year, in cooperation with the Korea Employers Federation and the Liberation Association, it supported small business owners who are descendants of independence activists through a premium goods store project. Additionally, since 2019, KB Kookmin Bank has been running the "The Great Republic of Korea Lived" campaign to promote the spirit of liberation and the independence movement and convey its values.
