Goyang City to Operate 'Family Education Program' from June to Help Restore Children and Youth's Mental Health

The Goyang Special City Ilsandong District Health Center and the Goyang City Mental Health Welfare Center will implement a 'Family Education Program' from June to November to support the mental health recovery of children and adolescents.

This program will be conducted for the guardians of registered members currently utilizing the center's case management services. It aims to help guardians deeply understand the characteristics of childhood and adolescence, enhance their care capacity, and solidify the family's support system.

In particular, this year, the opinions and needs of the guardians were actively reflected to increase the effectiveness of the education. It will be operated over a total of five sessions with various and practical topics, including ▲Childhood and Adolescent Mental Illness and Medication Treatment, ▲Fathers' Communication Methods, and ▲Parenting Capacity Enhancement Workshop.

The Goyang City Mental Health Welfare Center routinely helps the healthy growth of children and adolescents by early detecting and intervening in their mental health problems. For cases requiring continuous management, it also provides case management services to prevent relapse and support recovery.

Detailed information regarding the education can be found on the center's website, and guidance can be received by phone (Children and Youth Mental Health Team, 031-908-3567).

A center official stated, "We will continue to operate various programs that support the establishment of a healthy support system within the family, alongside individual interventions for children and adolescents."
