Samsung Electronics Defends Corporate Grand Prize at May Netizen Awards... Recovers Share to 56% Range

Samsung Electronics firmly defended its first-place position in the corporate grand prize voting for the Netizen Awards corporate category in May. Samsung Electronics recorded an overwhelming first place by securing 1,557 votes (a 56.1% share). Although it won a majority of votes last month, Samsung Electronics had shown a downward trend in its share; this time, however, it pulled its support rate back up to the 56% range, solidifying its dominant position in the corporate grand prize category.

Hyundai Motor and LG followed in the top tier. Hyundai Motor defended its second-place spot with 542 votes (19.5%), while LG took third place with 256 votes (9.2%), forming the top-tier lineup.

There were ranking changes in the middle tier. Shinsegae, which had shown a downward trend last month, rose to fourth place with 153 votes (5.5%), and Lotte settled into fifth place with 148 votes (5.3%). On the other hand, Hanwha Ocean, which had climbed up to fourth place last month, saw a hesitation in voter sentiment and dropped to sixth place with 104 votes (3.7%).

In the lower tier, Hyundai Rotem recorded seventh place with 7 votes (0.3%), and Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO) took eighth place with 4 votes (0.1%). SK Group and Samcheondang Pharmaceutical tied for ninth place with 3 votes (0.1%) each, wrapping up this month's voting.

These results, which confirmed ranking changes, forecast fierce competition among companies in the future.
