Corrections Policy
CBC Globe holds the provision of accurate information as its foremost editorial principle. We recognise that errors may arise during AI translation and adaptation, and where an error is confirmed we correct it promptly and transparently.
1. How to Request a Correction
If you believe an article contains an error, please email cbcglobe@gmail.com including the following:
- The article's headline and URL
- The specific content you believe to be in error
- The basis or source supporting your request
- Your name and contact details, where relevant
2. Correction Process
- Acknowledgement: We confirm receipt of your request within one business day.
- Review: The editorial operation reviews the request and communicates the outcome within three business days.
- If an error is confirmed: We revise the article and add the correction note and correction date at the bottom of the article.
- If no error is found: We inform the requester of the review outcome and the reasons.
3. How Corrections Are Marked
Where an error is confirmed, the article is revised and the correction is noted at the bottom in the following format:
Correction ([correction date]): [correction details]
Where the error originated in the source text, we also notify the source publication. Where the error arose during translation, we specify that it was a translation error.
4. Scope of Corrections
- Factual errors: verifiable errors of fact such as dates, names, figures, and places
- Translation errors: mistranslations or distortions of meaning arising during AI translation
- Context errors: cases where the original context was conveyed incorrectly during translation or adaptation
Content involving subjective judgement, such as opinion, commentary, or predictions, does not fall within the scope of corrections.
