Editorial Policy
CBC Globe is an English-language news service that converts and adapts articles from CBC News (cbci.co.kr), a South Korean internet newspaper, for a global audience. This Editorial Policy sets out our standards for content production, byline conventions, and error handling.
In keeping with our mission as journalists, we observe the following principles when reporting:
- We do not report unfounded information that harms an individual's reputation, and we protect the privacy of those we cover.
- We do not use a reporter's position to obtain improper gain in the course of reporting.
- Our reporters refrain from any conduct that undermines the dignity of the profession.
- We do not discriminate against the socially, culturally, or politically vulnerable.
- We do not provoke conflict between regions, classes, religions, genders, or groups.
- We promptly correct any erroneous reporting.
1. Editorial Independence
CBC Globe's editorial authority is exercised independently of advertisers, partners, and external stakeholders. Decisions on translation, adaptation, and publication follow our editorial policy, and advertising or commercial interests do not influence editorial direction.
2. How We Produce Content
CBC Globe articles are produced through the following process:
- Original CBC News (cbci.co.kr) articles are automatically adapted and translated using AI technology.
- The adapted and translated articles are published automatically on CBC Globe when the publication gates pass.
- The editorial operation continuously monitors published articles and reviews or revises headlines and content as needed.
- The editorial operation manages content on an ongoing basis so that the facts of the original are not distorted.
3. Byline Principles
Every article carries a byline in the following format:
[Reporter Name], Staff Reporter | [publication date]
Reporter names are based on CBC News reporter information. The English names of currently registered reporters are:

4. Error Handling
Where an error is found in a published article or a correction request is received, we handle it as follows:
- We review the matter within three business days of receipt.
- If an error is confirmed, we revise the article and note the correction and date at the bottom of the article.
- Where the error originated in the source text, we also notify the source publication.

5. Copyright and Attribution
Copyright in all articles published on CBC Globe belongs to Operated by CBC Media. English-language articles cite the source of the original article where required, and the facts of the original are not altered arbitrarily.

This Editorial Policy may change according to our operating circumstances. Any changes will be announced on the site.
