Gaon Transmission (000500) showed a strong performance by breaking the 370,000 won mark during the intraday trading on the 12th, but soon gave up all of its gains and turned to a sharp decline. Due to extreme volatility, the Volatility Intervention (VI) was triggered multiple times from pre-market to intraday, drawing keen attention from investors.

On this day, the domestic stock market continued its strong trend for both major indices amid expectations that geopolitical risks between the United States and Iran would ease. However, after an initial rise early in the session, Gaon Transmission's volatility maximized, and it reversed course to a sharp decline. As of 12:42 PM, Gaon Transmission is trading at 278,000 won, down 46,000 won (14.20%) from the previous trading day, showing a significantly widened drop compared to its intraday high.

Due to the expanding volatility of Gaon Transmission, the static VI was triggered at 10:45:55 AM and lifted at 10:49:18 AM. It was then triggered again at 12:16:57 PM and lifted at 12:19:18 PM. Dynamic VIs were also triggered consecutively in the Alternative Trading System (NXT) prior to the regular trading session. Starting from 8:00 AM to 8:02 AM, followed by 8:02:02 AM to 8:04:02 AM, and then 8:04:06 AM to 8:06:06 AM, dynamic VIs were triggered successively.
