The stock price of Hanmi Semiconductor (042700) surged more than 15% during the trading session, triggering the Volatility Interruption (VI) mechanism multiple times. As expectations spread that geopolitical risks between the United States and Iran would ease, buying power flowed into the broader domestic stock market, drawing investors' attention to semiconductor stocks.

According to the Korea Exchange on the 12th, Hanmi Semiconductor's static VI was triggered at 12:27:14 p.m. and lifted at 12:29:30 p.m. on the same day. In the alternative trading system (NXT) before the market opened, the dynamic VI was triggered three times. Following an activation at 8:00 a.m. that was lifted at 8:02 a.m., the dynamic VI was triggered consecutively from 8:02:01 a.m. to 8:04:01 a.m., and again from 8:04:02 a.m. to 8:06:02 a.m.

As of 12:35 p.m., Hanmi Semiconductor is trading at 336,500 won, up 45,500 won (15.64%) from the previous trading day. It is maintaining a strong upward trend by expanding its intraday gains.

The domestic stock market also showed concurrent strength. At the same time, the KOSPI recorded 8,399.63, up 635.68 points (8.18%) from the previous trading day, while the KOSDAQ stood at 1,044.10, up 47.71 points (4.73%).

The market analysis suggests that as the possibility of easing tensions in the Middle East is highlighted, the psychological preference for risk assets is recovering.
