Hanmi Semiconductor has finalized the acquisition of shares in SpaceX, a U.S. aerospace company. The acquisition amount was confirmed at around the initially planned KRW 50 billion.
According to Hanmi Semiconductor's revised regulatory filing on the 15th, the company acquired 215,600 shares of SpaceX through an over-the-counter purchase method. The actual acquisition amount totaled KRW 50,007,996,333. This investment accounts for 7.24% of Hanmi Semiconductor's equity capital (KRW 690,327,519,537), and the acquisition was completed on June 13, 2026, based on Korean time.
With this share acquisition, Hanmi Semiconductor secured a 0.002% stake in SpaceX. Currently, SpaceX, led by Elon Musk, is known to have a total of 1,307,586,517.5 issued shares. SpaceX is engaged in businesses including space rocket launches, satellite communication internet, and AI.
Regarding the background of the investment, Hanmi Semiconductor explained, "It is an investment in the future growth potential of Elon Musk's Terafab and SpaceX, driven by the explosive demand for AI, satellite communications, aerospace, and advanced semiconductors."
Meanwhile, this revised filing is a procedure carried out to specifically reflect the actual acquisition results and the initially planned acquisition amount (KRW 50 billion) following the completion of the actual purchase.
