LG CNS and Federation of Middle Market Enterprises to Support AI Transformation (AX) for SMEs... 4.2 Billion KRW to be Invested Over Two Years
LG CNS has partnered with the Federation of Middle Market Enterprises (FMME) to fully support the AI transformation (AX) of small and medium-sized manufacturing

LG CNS has partnered with the Federation of Middle Market Enterprises (FMME) to fully support the AI transformation (AX) of small and medium-sized manufacturing enterprises. A total budget of 4.2 billion KRW will be invested over the next two years to help strengthen the competitiveness of SMEs in three areas: AX education, technical support, and distribution and marketing support.
■ MOU Signed on the 17th... Aiming to Bridge the AI Gap Between Large Corporations and SMEs
On the 17th, LG CNS announced that it signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) titled 'Business Agreement for Discovering a Win-Win Cooperation Model Between Large Corporations and SMEs for the Diffusion of AI in SMEs' at the FMME office in Yeouido, Seoul. The signing ceremony was attended by LG CNS CEO Hyun Shin-kyun and FMME Chairman Kim Ki-mun.
This agreement was initiated in line with the government's policy to expand AX among SMEs, aiming to narrow the AI utilization gap between large corporations and SMEs and to enhance manufacturing competitiveness. In particular, the partners will focus their capabilities on supporting small and medium-sized manufacturers that face difficulties in adopting AX due to a lack of data and expert personnel.
■ Establishment of Customized 'Manufacturing AX Starter Package' for Manufacturing Sites
The technical support will be promoted in conjunction with the government's 'Win-Win AX Leading Model Project for Large Corporations and SMEs.' For the small and medium-sized manufacturers selected by the FMME, the entire process will be supported, from establishing a data collection system to developing and applying AI models and system integration.
LG CNS plans to build a 'Manufacturing AX Starter Package' that combines a Manufacturing Execution System (MES), Statistical Process Control (SPC), and a manufacturing-specific Large Language Model (LLM). Through this, work standard documents and equipment manuals will be converted into digital assets, and a natural language-based decision-making system will be implemented to help resolve technical gaps and labor shortages at manufacturing sites.
■ AX Education for CEOs... Global E-commerce Expansion Also Supported
In the education sector, AX training and consulting will be provided to management, including CEOs. The plan is to identify core tasks for each company and support the establishment of AI adoption strategies and execution plans to strengthen AX promotion capabilities.
In the distribution and marketing sector, a platform based on AI and mathematical optimization technologies will be utilized to support the expansion of sales channels for SMEs. For 100 SMEs hoping to enter overseas markets, an Amazon-specialized platform called 'LG Optapex' will be provided to assist with global e-commerce onboarding and advertising operations. In the domestic market, the partners plan to support improvements in digital advertising efficiency on platforms like Naver Shopping by utilizing a marketing optimization platform called 'MOP (Marketing Optimization Platform).'
Moving forward, the two organizations plan to select the target companies for support and flesh out the detailed operational plans for the project.
FMME Chairman Kim Ki-mun stated, "We expect that the combination of the manufacturing and industrial site data held by the FMME and LG CNS's AI technology will lead to tangible AI transformation results. We will actively support the establishment of this win-win model between large corporations and SMEs at SME sites."
LG CNS CEO Hyun Shin-kyun said, "The AX transformation of SMEs is a task directly linked to the competitiveness of the entire industry. We will accompany them throughout the entire process—from education to manufacturing innovation and marketing expansion—and serve as a partner in the growth of SMEs."
