A Volatility Intervention Mechanism (VI) was triggered for Korea Optical Communications (010170) on the afternoon of the 19th.

According to the Korea Exchange (KRX), as of 1:00 PM on this day, Korea Optical Communications is trading at 16,100 won, down 1,550 won (8.78%) from the previous trading day. On the same day, the KRX static VI was triggered at 12:58:34 PM and lifted at 1:00:58 PM. Even after the VI was lifted, the stock price maintained a decline of around 8%.

On the same day, the domestic stock market saw the KOSPI hit an all-time high due to early session strength, but reversed to a decline in the afternoon as profit-taking sell-offs poured in. As of 1:00 PM, the KOSPI is down 115.37 points (1.27%) from the previous trading day, recording 8,948.47.

Amid a contraction in overall market investment sentiment, selling pressure has dominated Korea Optical Communications as well, continuing its weak trend. However, there is a possibility that volatility could expand depending on changes in supply and demand during the latter half of the session, requiring caution from investors.
