On June 30, domestic nuclear power-related stocks ended the month with a broad decline on the final trading day. Following a recent sharp short-term rally, profit-taking sell-offs emerged, pushing the overall sector into a consolidation phase.
Looking at the closing prices on that day, Sosan Industry recorded the smallest decline, finishing at 21,450 won (-1.1%). This was followed by Doosan Enerbility at 86,600 won (-1.5%), KEPCO E&C at 108,900 won (-1.6%), Orbitech at 5,560 won (-1.9%), Daechang Solution at 1,658 won (-2.1%), Woori Technology at 12,200 won (-2.6%), and Korea Electric Power Corporation at 37,200 won (-2.7%).
KEPCO KPS closed at 44,500 won (-3.0%), Geumhwa PSC at 31,850 won (-3.1%), and Mobis at 2,760 won (-3.8%). Woojin and Woojin Entech experienced relatively steep corrections, closing at 16,000 won (-4.3%) and 16,560 won (-4.3%), respectively.
Although the magnitude of declines varied by stock, most nuclear power stocks closed in negative territory, reflecting an overall sector-wide correction.
Market attention is now turning to the direction of nuclear power stocks in July. With the promotion of new domestic and international nuclear power projects, expectations for nuclear power equipment orders, and the expansion of global electricity demand cited as mid- to long-term investment points, whether buying interest will re-enter the market after the correction is seen as the key focal point.
