Samsung Heavy Industries has signed a contract worth 273.4 billion won to build two oil tankers for a shipowner in the Oceania region.

According to Samsung Heavy Industries on the 2nd, the vessels built under this contract are scheduled to be supplied to the Oceania region. The contract amount is equivalent to 2.6% of the company's recent consolidated revenue (10.65 trillion won) based on 2025 figures.

  • Contract Period: July 1, 2026 – June 30, 2029
  • Payment Method: Down payment and progress payments will be made, with the contract amount collected in installments based on the construction progress rate.
  • Calculation Standard: The contract amount was calculated using the base exchange rate on the contract date (1,548.4 won per U.S. dollar), and the contract end date may vary depending on the construction progress, based on the vessel delivery date.
