KBS2's 'The Return of Superman' (hereafter 'Shudol') received a Presidential Commendation in celebration of the 14th Population Day, delivering colorful stories of family growth and heartfelt moments.
Episode 627, which aired recently, featured the daily lives of various cast members including Haru, the Kang Ddung-ie siblings, the Woo Joo-byul Ddung-ie sisters, and KCM's family.
Shim Hyung-tak's son Haru showed how much he has grown by fearlessly feeding a pony himself during their encounter. In particular, he succeeded in riding a horse without his father's help for the first time. Watching this, Shim Hyung-tak was moved and said, 'Our son has really grown up.'
Meanwhile, the Kang Ddung-ie siblings and the Woo Joo-byul Ddung-ie sisters met as twin friends and shared moments of connection, adding laughter to the show. Im Ra-ra experienced the joys of co-parenting with fellow twin-raising veteran Lady Jane. Both twin families transformed into the 'Ddung-ie Rabbits' wearing adorable bunny jumpsuits, showing off their endearing charm. The Kang Ddung-ie siblings also tried crawling on their bellies following the Woo Joo-byul Ddung-ie sisters, creating a heartwarming scene of growing together.
KCM's family story also drew attention. His second daughter Seo-yeon opened up about her true feelings toward her youngest brother Ha-on. Seo-yeon, who had felt upset as the time spent with her father decreased, confessed in a situation where Ha-on turned into a doll, 'It makes me sad when Dad only plays with Ha-on.' She then showed tears as she expressed her affection for her younger sibling. KCM shared his feelings, saying, 'My heart ached thinking that Seo-yeon must have felt really upset.'
Following the broadcast, social media was filled with warm reactions about the cast, including Haru's physical challenge, the cuteness of the twins, and Seo-yeon's love for her sibling.
'The Return of Superman' has been consistently beloved since its first broadcast in 2013. In June and August 2025, cast members Jung-woo, Haru, and Shim Hyung-tak ranked within the top 10 in the TV-OTT non-drama category for performer buzzworthiness, proving the show's high level of public interest.
'The Return of Superman' airs every Wednesday at 8:30 PM on KBS2.
