Pure gold (24K · 3.75g) traded at 903,000 won for buying and 748,000 won for selling. The buying price rose by 13,000 won (1.44%) compared to the previous trading day, while the selling price also increased by 10,000 won (1.34%).

The selling price for 18K gold was 549,800 won, up 7,300 won (1.33%) from the previous trading day. The selling price for 14K gold was 426,400 won, rising by 5,700 won (1.34%).

Platinum (3.75g) recorded 354,000 won for buying and 287,000 won for selling. The buying price rose by 9,000 won (2.54%), and the selling price also increased by 7,000 won (2.44%).

[U.S. Economic Indicators Emerge as Key Variable for Gold Prices]

The market expects that upcoming major U.S. economic indicators, including employment and inflation data, will serve as important variables for the gold market.

Previously, the U.S. unemployment rate announced on July 2 (Korean time) came in at 4.2%, while non-farm sector employment increased by 57,000. If signs of an economic slowdown strengthen, the likelihood of changes in the Federal Reserve's monetary policy could increase, which would simultaneously affect the value of the dollar, Treasury yields, and gold prices.

Although gold is not an interest-bearing asset, it has the characteristic of gaining relative value as uncertainty increases.
