The Market Surveillance Committee announced on the 3rd that it has designated Hyundai Rotem as an 'Investment Caution Stock' due to excessive trading participation by a specific account (group). This designation will be in effect for one day on July 6, 2026.

According to the disclosure, Hyundai Rotem's closing price on the day surged 15.90% compared to the closing price three trading days earlier, and the buy participation rate of a specific single account on that day reached 9.05%. Over the past three trading days, there were a total of two days on which the buy participation rate of the specific account met the designation criteria.

This measure was taken because all designation requirements for Investment Caution Stocks set by the Korea Exchange were met. The specific designation criteria are as follows:

  • The closing price on the day rose 15% or more compared to the closing price three trading days earlier (however, if the market index rose 8% or more over the past three trading days, a rise of 25% or more is required)
  • The buy participation rate of a specific account (group), considering its price impact, was 5% or more for two or more days out of the past three trading days
  • An average daily trading volume of 30,000 shares or more over the past three trading days

Based on the disclosure, it was confirmed that Hyundai Rotem has not been designated as an Investment Caution Stock for the same reason during the past 5 and 15 trading days.

The Korea Exchange explained that the Investment Caution Stock designation is a market alert measure aimed at drawing investors' attention to trading. Market alerts are designated in a phased manner in the order of Investment Caution Stocks, Investment Warning Stocks, and Investment Risk Stocks, and trading may be suspended if certain conditions are met at the Investment Warning and Investment Risk Stock stages.
