KBS 2TV's new daily drama 'Trap of Desire' will premiere on August 10 at 7:50 PM. It depicts the story of a woman, framed for murder, who fights back against massive desires to reclaim her lost life through revenge. The series is scheduled as a follow-up to 'Red Pearl'.
The recent script reading was attended by directors Lee Dae-kyung and Jung Kwang-soo, writer Koo Ji-won, along with cast members Jang Seo-hee, Jun Hye-won, Seol Jung-hwan, Joo Sae-byul, Yoon Hae-young, Yoo Tae-woong, Jang Se-hyun, Son Seong-yoon, Seo Kwon-soon, Choi Jae-won, Park Hyun-jung, Park Sung-gyu, and special appearance actress Seo Yu-jung. The actors deeply immersed themselves in their respective roles, driving the atmosphere of the session with high concentration and passion.
Jang Seo-hee takes on the role of Joo Mi-ran, showcasing an intense villainous performance. Contrasting with her gentle exterior, she portrays a character harboring desire and secrets within, dominating the set with restrained emotional depth. Jang Seo-hee shared her thoughts, saying, "It was my first time meeting the other cast members, and they portrayed their characters in a more multi-dimensional way than I had imagined. It gave me confidence about what direction to take with the role of Joo Mi-ran, and it was a very beneficial time."
Jun Hye-won takes on her first lead role as Go Eun-seol, a woman who loses everything after being falsely accused of murder. She meticulously portrayed despair, anger, and the will for revenge, heightening the immersion on set. Jun Hye-won expressed her determination, saying, "Through the character of Eun-seol, viewers will be able to experience the thrill of a satisfying punch. I will do my best to show 200% of myself so that viewers won't be able to stop watching the drama."
Seol Jung-hwan and Joo Sae-byul play Cha Seok-jin, Go Eun-seol's first love, and Kang Hae-ra, the sole heiress of Cheongma Group, respectively, forming a complex relationship. Their connection and choices span from the past, ten years ago, to the present, adding tension to the drama. Seol Jung-hwan remarked, "It will be more interesting if you pay close attention to the relationships that unfold differently than expected and the cases where there are winners and losers," while Joo Sae-byul said, "The process of hidden truths being revealed one by one and the choices the characters make will be intriguing."
Yoon Hae-young and Yoo Tae-woong appear as Chairwoman Kim Jung-sun and CEO Kang Young-hoon, who lead the Cheongma Group, anchoring the center of the story. In addition, Jang Se-hyun, Son Seong-yoon, Seo Kwon-soon, Choi Jae-won, Park Hyun-jung, Park Sung-gyu, and Seo Yu-jung delivered their respective roles, elevating the overall quality of the production.
