In the ninth episode of tvN's 'Kill It: Style Creator War,' Yoyo, who transferred to the 'Black Label,' claimed first place with an overwhelming performance, while Dasha, the official ace of the lineup, fell short of expectations with an eighth-place finish.
On this day, 11 style creators competed to showcase their individuality and creativity through the 'Movement Couple Photoshoot' and 'Style Race' missions.
Ahead of the first 'Movement Couple Photoshoot,' the participants received movement training under the guidance of movement director Yoo Soo-kyung, led by Yeon-jun. Ji-won, whose main profession is a movement director, stood out, while Choi Mina-soo, a former dance club member, struggled to execute the movements and showed visible stress. However, Ji-won and Bella Wooyoung shined in a surprise mission, and Choi Mina-soo also overcame the challenge with a performance enhanced by acting.
In the main 'Movement Couple Photoshoot' mission, participants formed teams with dancers from various genres, including contemporary dance, ballet, Korean traditional dance, Latin, hip-hop, and vogueing. Ji-won, who earned the priority right to choose a partner, teamed up with Jo Yu-sik and won the mission. Meanwhile, Choi Mina-soo, who was pushed back in the selection order and ended up with the hip-hop part, teamed up again with Bella Wooyoung, whom she had met during the preliminary round. Choi Mina-soo, who had been intimidated by Bella Wooyoung's performance and shed tears during practice, successfully completed the mission and showed growth.
In the following 'Style Race' mission, the creators were given a high-level task that required them to travel to three locations within 30 minutes, completing everything from styling utilizing sneakers to shooting, editing, and submitting the final results.
In the first mission at the yacht marina, Yoyo presented a Diana Princess summer vacation concept, while Dasha showcased an intense style. Ko Ye-jin drew a reaction from mentor Lee Jong-won with a bold style featuring deer antlers. In the second stage at a university campus, Kim Na-ra presented a youth concept set against a pub backdrop, while Yoyo transformed into a festival stage performer. Dasha completed a 'Baseball Team's Female Ace' concept with baseball team students, and Choi Mina-soo showcased a campus goddess look. In the final park mission, Ko Ye-jin (military uniform), Jae-in (orange-haired fairy), Naya Washi (swimwear), Dasha (ballet-core look utilizing wing props), and Kim Na-ra (reversal style using a long-haired wig) presented diverse and colorful stylings.
In the final results announcement, Yoyo took first place with creative work. On the other hand, Dasha finished eighth and expressed her disappointment, saying, 'I wonder if my taste is too far from the mainstream.' Lee Soo-min of the 'White Label' was selected as the eliminated contestant of the day. Lee Soo-min shared her thoughts, saying, 'It's regrettable that I couldn't overcome my limitations,' and Bella Wooyoung shed tears of sorrow at Lee Soo-min's elimination.
Following the broadcast, online communities and social media platforms have been buzzing with diverse reactions and heated discussions about Yoyo's originality, Dasha's disappointing results, Choi Mina-soo's unexpected charm, and Ko Ye-jin's distinctive styling.
Meanwhile, tvN's 'Kill It: Style Creator War,' a survival program aimed at discovering next-generation style icons to lead K-fashion trends, airs every Tuesday at 10:10 p.m.
