According to the Korea Gold Exchange on July 9, silver (Silver, 3.75g) was priced at 11,730 won for buying and 9,860 won for selling. The buying price fell 3.92% (460 won) from the previous day, and the selling price also dropped 3.85% (380 won).

Silver is commonly known as a precious metal with higher volatility than gold, but in the market it carries significance beyond that of a simple safe-haven asset. While gold is primarily valued as a store of value, silver is both a precious metal and a commodity with a very high proportion of industrial raw material use. Because it is used across advanced industries such as solar panels, semiconductors, electric vehicles, batteries, medical devices, electronic components, and telecommunications equipment, it is highly sensitive to global manufacturing trends and investment flows in the technology sector.

The international silver market is currently facing a new inflection point. As tensions between the United States and Iran escalate once again, uncertainty in global financial markets is expanding. With the New York Stock Exchange closing mixed, investors' risk-averse sentiment has grown. Market attention is now focused on the future price trajectory of silver, which simultaneously possesses the dual characteristics of a safe-haven asset and an industrial raw material.

Historically, silver has been utilized as a key asset for currency and trade for thousands of years. In ancient Rome, China, and Europe, it served as the foundation of major currencies alongside gold.
