A broadcast tracking the whereabouts of a Korean man who went into hiding in Vietnam, leaving behind his common-law spouse and young daughter in China, is drawing attention. The July 13 episode of Channel A's 'Detectives' Trade Secret' will reveal the complex family history and shocking allegations surrounding a man who went missing six years ago.
The client, a Korean-Chinese woman, met a Korean man in Busan and had a daughter together without going through formal marriage procedures. However, just two months after the daughter was born, the man left for Vietnam citing 'company relocation,' promising to travel back and forth frequently once the COVID-19 situation improved. Although the man expressed affection by sending a congratulatory video for his daughter's first birthday, he subsequently cut off all contact and disappeared. Reportedly, the man suspected the client of 'having another man' and unilaterally severed communication.
The client revealed that she has been balancing living alone and raising her child for six years, and has been suffering from Ménière's disease for the past three years. The case took a new turn when the detective team contacted the man's mother. The man's mother claimed about the client, 'My son divorced because of her.' In other words, the man was already married with a wife and children in Korea. Furthermore, during the process of the client contacting the man's legal wife, it was revealed that the man had transferred his assets to his ex-wife before divorcing, which earned him resentment.
The detective team discovered a post on an online community related to a person believed to be the man. The post included words such as 'Vietnam' and 'scam,' and the author claimed, 'Someone even made an extreme choice because of the child's father,' causing shock.
Singer Wax will appear as a one-day detective on this episode. Wax introduced herself as having a curious personality that enjoys challenges. When asked about her close relationships with male celebrities such as Hong Seok-cheon and Lee Ki-chan, Wax provided an answer, and an anecdote was mentioned in which Hong Seok-cheon previously called Wax 'honey' and proposed marriage on a broadcast. Wax responded that her chances with Defconn were greater, drawing laughter, and Defconn countered, 'I respect her, but it would be difficult as lovers,' pointing to another cast member and saying, 'This person has a better chance.'
The full story of the case and the truth behind the tangled relationships can be seen on Channel A's 'Detectives' Trade Secret.' It airs on Monday, July 13 at 10 p.m.
