Alteogen (196170) is showing strong weakness, with a Volatility Interruption (VI) being triggered intraday due to a sharp decline. Both the KOSPI and KOSDAQ indices are also falling simultaneously, severely dampening overall market investment sentiment.
As of 11:31 a.m. on the 14th, Alteogen is trading at 273,000 won, down 43,500 won (13.74%) from the previous trading day. It has failed to recover the 300,000 won level during the session, with strong selling pressure continuing in the 270,000 won range.
According to the Korea Exchange, a static VI was triggered for Alteogen at 11:23:33 a.m. on the same day and was lifted approximately two minutes later at 11:25:39 a.m. This is an indicator that short-term price volatility has significantly expanded.
The overall market weakness also contributed to the expansion of Alteogen's volatility. At the same time, the KOSPI plunged more than 2% and the KOSDAQ dropped over 4%, showing that risk appetite has frozen significantly. In particular, in the KOSDAQ market, selling has poured in mainly around large-cap stocks by market capitalization, driving the index lower.
The renewed spotlight on geopolitical uncertainty in the Middle East following the recent clash between the United States and Iran is also cited as a factor pressuring investor sentiment. Amid such macro uncertainty, selling has concentrated on the KOSDAQ market, which is centered on growth stocks, which is interpreted to have further widened Alteogen's decline.
In the afternoon session, key points to watch are expected to be changes in foreign and institutional supply and demand, whether the KOSDAQ index rebounds, and whether Alteogen can defend the 270,000 won level by narrowing its losses.
