Sinsung ENG has acquired a patent for a core technology that dramatically improves the control efficiency of Fan Filter Units (FFUs) used in cleanrooms.

On the 16th, Sinsung ENG disclosed the acquisition of a patent for 'FAN FILTER UNIT, FAN FILTER UNIT ASSEMBLY AND CONTROL METHOD THEREOF.' The patent registration date is July 16, 2026.

■ Key Technology is 'External Static Pressure Measurement'… Significantly Improved Control Accuracy

The core of this patent is a technology that measures the external static pressure between the upstream side of the FFU housing and the downstream side of the filter, in addition to the existing filter differential pressure measurement. This enables a more accurate and reliable analysis of the airflow conditions around the FFU.

The company explained that by utilizing this technology, it can detect the airflow status at various locations within the cleanroom as well as the filter contamination level of each FFU, and efficiently control multiple FFUs on a group basis.

It also stated that by monitoring the external static pressure of each zone in real time through dual differential pressure measurement sensors, the technology can be used to improve the on-site environment and enhance airflow uniformity.

■ Maintains Consistent Airflow Even in Non-Uniform Pressure Environments

Sinsung ENG emphasized that this technology allows the FFU airflow to remain consistent even in environments where the internal pressure of the cleanroom is not uniform. The company also expects improvements in cleanroom airflow and energy savings. Going forward, it plans to apply this patent to its SMART FFU for use in the upper sections of cleanrooms.

Meanwhile, the company noted that the fact-verification date for this disclosure is the date on which it received the patent fee payment confirmation certificate from a patent law firm.
