Wavve's original dating reality show "Standby Me" is drawing in viewers with a game-changing development.
In episodes 8 and 9, scheduled to be released on the 17th at 11 a.m., the eight cast members — four men and four women — reveal their ages and occupations for the first time. Following the production team's request to introduce themselves "just as they are," the participants embarked on honest self-introductions.
The biggest impact came from the appearance of the youngest cast member, born in 2006. The unexpected age gap instantly shifted the existing atmosphere. After the ages were revealed, cast members poured out their honest reactions, with comments such as "It's so much younger than I thought, so my feelings went down," and "It would be difficult for this to develop into a romantic relationship." One cast member openly admitted the impact age had on their emotions, saying, "It's true that my attraction dropped even though I wanted to go on a date."
The occupation reveal also brought a diverse array of backgrounds to light. Stories unfolded from participants with different backgrounds, including a restaurant industry worker and a former idol trainee. Those in similar fields naturally formed a bond and began building new attractions.
After all self-introductions concluded, an announcement was made: "Send the name of the person who captured your heart with their new charm." The cast participated in a vote to choose a partner to join them in the "Secret Room," and as a result, one matched couple shared an honest conversation in the Secret Room and grew closer than before.
"Standby Me" is a dating program that explores diverse possibilities of love and emotions transcending gender boundaries, where participants focus on their feelings for one another and the potential of their relationships to find the connection they desire. Episodes 8 and 9 will be released exclusively on Wavve.
