Joby Aviation, a leading air taxi company, released its '2025 Impact Report' on the 17th (local time), detailing its operational readiness, global market expansion, safety system development, and eco-friendly management achievements ahead of its commercial service launch.

Following flight tests in the United States and the expansion of its manufacturing facility in Ohio, the company has showcased its quiet electric aircraft in key target launch markets through demonstration flights in Osaka, Japan, and Dubai, UAE, while also laying the groundwork for creating high-value manufacturing jobs in the U.S.

850 Flights Achieved and Regular Transition Flights Conducted Joby performed over 850 flights using five aircraft throughout 2025. This figure represents a 2.6-fold increase compared to the previous year. In particular, the company stated that it became the first electric air taxi company to regularly conduct 'transition flights,' in which a pilot onboard performs all phases from vertical takeoff to fixed-wing cruise and landing.

Global Market Expansion and Strengthened Partnerships The company is also accelerating its push into global markets. It conducted 41 demonstration flights at the Osaka Expo in Japan and successfully carried out its first test flight in Dubai, UAE. The company evaluated that these flights played a crucial role in verifying technology for future commercial services and strengthening the foundation for cooperation with regulatory authorities.

Significant achievements were also made in its business operations. To launch air taxi services in the United Kingdom, Joby partnered with the global aviation brand Virgin Atlantic, and it acquired the passenger service business of Blade Air Mobility, thereby securing a commercial operational base and existing operational experience. On the regulatory front, following the Dubai test flight, the company advanced the aircraft certification process with the UAE's General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA). Additionally, it participated in the U.S. Department of Transportation's release of the Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) National Roadmap in Washington, D.C., contributing to the establishment of a commercial operations framework.

Proactive Safety System Development... Employees Exceed 2,500 Joby also made significant progress in building its aviation safety culture in 2025. The company voluntarily adopted the FAA's Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP) ahead of its mandatory implementation date of 2027. This is a rare case even among Part 135 operators and aims to enable employees to report safety issues without fear of retaliation, allowing hazards to be identified early.

Internal safety performance also improved. Through 1,158 safety inspections annually, the company reduced the number of industrial accidents and work disruptions by 20% compared to 2024 (and over 50% compared to 2023). Furthermore, the company expanded its Safety Management System (SMS) to meet the regulatory requirements of both the UK and the UAE, establishing a foundation for multinational commercial operations.

The company has also been actively fostering talent, with its global workforce surpassing 2,500 employees in 2025. It expanded its advanced manufacturing apprenticeship program to 50 participants, and through the FAA-approved 'Joby Academy's light aircraft mechanic qualification course, it produced over 20 graduates in 2025. More than 280 people enrolled in a private pilot ground school course offered to the general public, and the 'North Star Leadership Framework' was introduced company-wide to strengthen leadership capabilities.

Thorough Eco-Friendly Management... '47% Less Greenhouse Gas Than Gasoline Cars' Joby also achieved results in building eco-friendly transportation and reducing carbon emissions from its own operations. According to the company's analysis, based on a representative 41-mile route in Los Angeles, the greenhouse gas emissions per passenger-mile for Joby's electric aircraft were estimated to be 47% less than those of a gasoline car and 94% less than a helicopter. This analysis was calculated based on data from hundreds of test flights and assuming future real-world operating conditions.

In terms of operations, 97% of the power for its major facilities was supplied by renewable energy, a significant increase from 2024 (84%). Over the past three years, the use of renewable energy has reduced greenhouse gas emissions by more than 5,100 tons, which is equivalent to the annual electricity consumption of approximately 1,060 households. At its headquarters in Santa Cruz, California, the company restored its solar power generation system, more than doubling its daily generation capacity to over 3,000 kWh (about 59% of the facility's average daily power demand). The company also achieved the diversion of over 104,000 pounds of manufacturing materials from landfill waste through its recycling program.

Meanwhile, in key target launch regions such as Los Angeles and New York in the U.S., Dayton, Japan, and Dubai, thousands of citizens directly experienced the future of transportation by getting up close with the actual aircraft, flight demonstrations, and simulators.
