The 14th Busan International Comedy Festival (BICF), Asia's first and largest comedy festival, will grandly raise its curtain on August 21 at the BEXCO Auditorium. Following the opening, a variety of performances will take place across Busan for ten days.

The Busan International Comedy Festival Organizing Committee pre-released the official poster on July 20 to commemorate its 14th anniversary. The poster features the back view of mascot characters Funny (a lighthouse) and Buddy (a seagull) heading toward the stage, symbolically expressing the backstage atmosphere right before a performance along with the excitement, tension, and energy of comedians. In particular, the 'I' in the BICF logo visualizes the entrance to the stage, and the stage lighting illuminates the characters to cast a shadow in the shape of '14,' highlighting the festival's 14-year history.

Launched in 2013, this festival brings together famous domestic and international comedians, rising stars, and global artists in one place. MC Ji Seok-jin will host this year's opening performance, leading the excitement.

A joint stage featuring Korean gag comedians and international comedians has been prepared, and audiences will be treated to an abundant lineup of spectacles, including a drawing performance by the Croky Brothers, Patrick Cottin Moine of Mime de Lyon, and a celebratory performance by the band QWER.

A BICF Organizing Committee official said, "This poster captures the dedication and struggles of comedians hidden behind the laughter," adding, "We ask for cheers and applause for those taking the stage, and we hope you enjoy the festival to the fullest."
