Hansung Enterprise (003680) is drawing investors' attention as it exhibits extreme volatility on its first day of trading resumption.

According to the Korea Exchange on the 20th, Hansung Enterprise was trading at 11,480 won as of 11:08 a.m., down 3,040 won (20.94%) from the previous trading day.

In early trading, the stock surged to as high as 17,340 won, showing a strong upward trend, but selling pressure subsequently poured in rapidly, widening the decline. As intraday volatility expanded, investor sentiment also appeared to waver.

The sidecar (Volatility Indication, VI) was triggered a total of four times during the morning alone. The trigger times were 9:01 a.m., 9:43 a.m., 9:54 a.m., and 10:58 a.m., indicating overheated trading activity.

This trading session also garnered attention as it marked the first trading day after trading was suspended on the 16th, following the Constitution Day holiday weekend. Previously, Hansung Enterprise had its trading suspended within a single day due to a short-term surge.

Hansung Enterprise recently emerged as a representative stock for the so-called 'patriotic buying' movement, with its share price surging in the short term despite concerns about delisting. However, on this day, the trend sharply reversed as profit-taking sell orders flooded in following the early-session surge.

Given the heightened volatility resulting from the short-term surge, the trading battle is likely to continue in the afternoon session. Analysts suggest that investors need to closely monitor the stock price trend and changes in trading volume.
