In episode 6 of the weekend drama 'Empathy Cells,' the relationship between Yu Ji-an (played by Kang Min-a) and Cha Eun-hwan (played by Kim Myung-soo) faced a trial.

Cha Eun-hwan deliberately kept his distance to protect Yu Ji-an, and Ji-an was hurt by his cold demeanor, shedding tears. Wanting to reverse the emotion transfer, Yu Ji-an suggested a kiss to Cha Eun-hwan, but when no change occurred, she fell into deep frustration. Afterward, Yu Ji-an received a phone call from Choi Jung-mi (played by Son Ji-na) and trembled with fear. Cha Eun-hwan comforted her by revealing for the first time his past as an orphanage child. The two finally resolved the emotion transfer through a heartfelt kiss. Yu Ji-an also received the news that she had been cast in Director Moon Kyung-sik's (played by Jo Hyun-jae) film 'White Night,' enjoying a brief moment of joy.

However, a new conflict was waiting. Cha Eun-hwan's older sister, Cha Song-hwan (played by Cha Min-ji), opposed his relationship with Yu Ji-an and declared she would leave the house. Cha Eun-hwan desperately begged for three months' time, and Yu Ji-an went to find Cha Song-hwan in person, where she discovered a family photo and was shocked, unaware of the hidden secret of the past within it.

Meanwhile, after safely completing her first shoot, Yu Ji-an proposed a lifetime contract to Cha Eun-hwan, but he drew a line by limiting the duration to three months. When controversy over Yu Ji-an's abusive behavior resurfaced, Cha Eun-hwan stepped up to defend her and discovered a script for an independent film within the exposé video, finding a clue to resolve the situation. He also heard from his former manager Do Hoon (played by Kang Pil-jun) that a reporter was acting under the instructions of Kim Jun-sik (played by Jung Hee-tae). Indeed, Kim Jun-sik was also caught in circumstances suggesting he was reporting information related to Yu Ji-an to someone.

Through all of this, Yu Ji-an increasingly felt Cha Eun-hwan's feelings more clearly and became confused. While the two were analyzing a script together, Cha Eun-hwan blurted out, "Since it can't work out anyway, wouldn't being together actually be a punishment for both of us?" causing Yu Ji-an's eyes to well up with tears once again.
