Hanwha Ocean (042660) settled in the mid-80,000 won range on the 22nd, riding a strong upward trend across the broader domestic stock market.

As of 11:01 a.m. on the 22nd, Hanwha Ocean was trading at 85,800 won, up 3,900 won (4.76%) from the previous trading day, maintaining strength in the upper 80,000 won range.

At the same time, the KOSPI surged more than 6% to reach the 7,154 level, and the KOSDAQ also rose over 3%. As risk appetite expanded, buying interest flowed into the broader domestic market, lifting Hanwha Ocean in tandem.

Hanwha Ocean has recently drawn investors' attention amid expectations for shipbuilding cooperation with the United States. However, the stock previously underwent a sharp correction after failing to be selected as the preferred bidder for Canada's next-generation submarine project.

The market is watching whether today's upward momentum will continue, potentially laying the groundwork for a recovery to the 90,000 won level. However, some analysts caution that as volatility in both domestic and overseas markets expands, shifts in investment sentiment and supply-demand dynamics in the shipbuilding and defense sectors should be closely monitored.
