On the 22nd, domestic nuclear power-related stocks mostly showed strength, reflecting solid investor sentiment. Market attention is now focused on the future trajectory of nuclear power-themed stocks.

Nuclear power stocks, led by large-cap shares, broadly recorded gains. Doosan Enerbility closed at 69,600 won on the NXT market, up 4.19% from the previous trading day, maintaining expectations of reclaiming the 70,000-won level. During the session, it briefly recovered the 70,000-won mark, but profit-taking sell orders pushed the closing price back below that threshold.

Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO) finished the session up 0.44% at 33,850 won, while Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power (KHNP) rose 3.08% to 90,100 won and KEPCO Plant Service & Engineering (KPS) climbed 2.58% to 43,650 won.

Small- and mid-cap nuclear power stocks also sustained their upward momentum. Wooree Technologies surged 5.16% to close at 9,980 won in the regular session, approaching the 10,000-won threshold. Wujin gained 5.83% to finish at 13,790 won, posting one of the highest increases among major stocks.

Other stocks also ended higher, including Sosan Industry (up 0.98% at 20,600 won), Keumhwa PSC (up 1.44% at 31,600 won), Orbitech (up 1.72% at 4,430 won), and Wujin Entech (up 1.94% at 14,170 won).

Meanwhile, forecasts suggest that the influence of the U.S. stock market will grow in shaping the future direction of the domestic bourse. As earnings reports from major U.S. tech companies begin in earnest, the trajectory of technology stocks, particularly semiconductor shares, is cited as a key variable that will determine volatility in global markets. Given the high likelihood that movements in U.S. tech and semiconductor sectors will affect investor sentiment in the domestic stock market, analysts emphasize the need to monitor trends in major domestic theme stocks, including nuclear power-related shares.
