Hanwha Ocean (042660) recorded a strong upward trend in the stock market on the 23rd, placing the recovery of the '90,000 Ocean' (stock price in the 90,000-won range) within reach. During the recent correction phase, the stock price fell below 100,000 won to the 80,000-won level, but market attention is now focused on whether it can continue its rebound by knocking on the 90,000-won threshold, a key psychological resistance level.

In the regular trading session that day, Hanwha Ocean closed at 89,900 won, surging 6,000 won (7.15%) from the previous trading day. The closing price was just 100 won short of 90,000 won, but it fueled expectations for a re-entry into the 90,000-won range.

The overall firm trend in the domestic stock market also drove Hanwha Ocean's gains. That day, the KOSPI closed at 7,096.89, up 299.19 points (4.40%) from the previous trading day, while the KOSDAQ finished at 790.28, rising 39.19 points (5.21%). As overall market investment sentiment improved, buying pressure flowed into shipbuilding stocks, and Hanwha Ocean also expanded its gains.

The key question for Hanwha Ocean, which is drawing attention as it shows a rebound trend after a short-term correction, is whether this rally can lead to a full recovery of the 90,000-won level. However, some analyses suggest the possibility of profit-taking sell-offs emerging due to the short-term surge should also be considered.

A major variable that will determine the future direction of the stock price is the discussion on Korea-U.S. shipbuilding cooperation. Whether discussions on expanding cooperation with the United States in the shipbuilding industry will lead to tangible results is expected to act as a core momentum for the future stock price trends of shipbuilding stocks, including Hanwha Ocean.
