Singer and actress Jung Ye-in has proven her exceptional ability to embody a character in the global short-form drama 'Codename: Villain Stepmom.'

Jung Ye-in delivered a passionate performance as the protagonist Li Xuelhua in 'Codename: Villain Stepmom' (directed by Yang Ho-seok, written by Yoon Yu, produced by SLL), which was released on the 22nd via the global short-form drama platform GoodShort. Produced as a total of 60 episodes, this project is a Korean-language adaptation of a popular original work from GoodShort.

In the drama, Li Xuelhua is an agent who, after losing her life during a mission, possesses the body of a villainous stepmother from a drama. She receives a mission to protect three children and survive in order to avoid a tragic ending. Xuelhua, once a cold and composed agent with outstanding combat skills and situational judgment, begins a new life in the body of the villainous stepmother and gradually reveals a warm side as she builds relationships with the three children.

As the story unfolds, Xuelhua slowly approaches the three children who fear her. She personally prepares meals for them and takes tender care of them, and in moments of danger, she doesn't hesitate to throw herself in harm's way to save them, gradually closing the distance between them. Particularly in situations where the children are threatened, she demonstrates the fearless action of an agent, showing both strong charisma and the reliable side of a protector.

What began as a choice simply to survive transforms as time goes by — she wholeheartedly embraces the children and accepts them as her own family. She vows to personally protect the children with whom she shares not a single drop of blood, and the emotional arc of her transformation from a cold and composed agent to a warm mother is depicted with great depth.

Throughout this process, Jung Ye-in flawlessly pulled off everything from action highlighting cool charisma to delicate acting that warmly embraces the children. She is praised for meticulously adjusting her gaze and tone of voice to suit constantly changing situations, thereby completing a three-dimensional portrayal of the character's complex emotions.
